Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl with a new topic every week for book bloggers to chat about. This week’s topic is “new-to-me authors discovered in 2024“.
I love discovering new authors, almost as much as picking up a book from an author I already know and love! Last year I read a good number of books by new-to-me authors, and I liked some of them so much I ended up reading more of their books soon after. In that case, I’ve included here the first book I read by them in the year.

- Kate Serzenta – Ghostly
- Michiko Aoyama – What You Are Looking For Is In the Library
- Mark Lawrence – The Book That Wouldn’t Burn
- Aman J. Bedi – Kavithri
- Aurora Tamigio – Il Cognome delle Donne
- Jenn Lees – Of Myths and Portals
- David Grann – Killers of the Flower Moon
- Clara Sereni – Il Gioco dei Regni
- Alice Guerra – Dieci Cose che Ho Imparato da Jessica Fletcher
- Jim Crace – Harvest
Happy TTT! Do you see any favourites on here? Do we have any in common? Let’s chat in the comments and leave your TTT link so I can visit!

It looks like you discovered some fantastic new authors in 2024. I’m hoping to finally read something by Mark Lawrence this year but I’m probably starting with Red Sister. I’ve got my eye on Kavithri too. A couple of the others are on my TBR as well though. And I love how varied your choices are. It looks like you had a fantastic reading year. Hopefully 2025 will bring even more new authors discoveries your way.

Ghostly is a cool word for a title.

I got about halfway through Flowers of the Killer Moon before it had to go back to the library. Waiting on my next hold to finish it.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you.

I just finished my first David Grann. It was The Wager, but Killers of the Flower Moon looks interesting so I might have to read that one next. Here’s my TTT!

What a great list! I haven’t read any on your list–yet. But several are on my TBR pile, and I would really like to get to them this year if possible. Mark Lawrence’s novel is one of them. I’ve heard such good things about it. Michiko Aoyama also. Thank you for sharing!

Killers of the Flower Moon was the only non-fiction I’ve ever binged and had such a fantastic time reading. Grann’s writing is so great! I started reading Mark Lawrence’s book last year but got too bogged down with life to finish so I’m going back to it this year. Looks like a great year of discovering new authors and I hope you continue to discover many more amazing ones in the year ahead!
