Currently reading
Starting Blessings today, another book that’s been sitting on my TBR for literal years – I add it to my Goodreads ‘want to read’ in 2023! It’s also one of the books in my 25 in 2025 challenge, so I’m happy to be knocking another one off the list.
I’m also listening to The Mountain Is You on audio. I don’t often read self-help books, as I don’t always find them to be particularly helpful, but I’m going to pick up a few in the next few weeks/months as I’m doing some research for work. I’ve seen this one being talked about a lot, and it has an impressive 4.06 average on Goodreads. I have to say, I’m not super impressed so far… there are some interesting reflections and exercises here and there, but it’s highly repetitive and at times generic. We’ll see if my opinion will change by the end!
Recently read
Well, what do you know… I actually managed to finish both my CRs last week! I’ll have reviews up for both at some point, but for now it’s enough to say I enjoyed them both – even though they’re wildly different. Of High Kings and Mages provides a deeply satisfying conclusion to the trilogy and I love these characters to bits! Yellowface was quite addictive, although I’m feeling a bit let down by the end… I kinda wanted and expected more.
Up next
I’ll dive into The Magical Legacy of the Ryūjin as soon as I finish reading Blessings, and I’m really looking forward to it! And then I plan to pick up The Imposter Phenomenon: I’m on the online book tour for this one, organised by Literally PR, and I am extremely curious about it.
