Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl with a new topic every week for book bloggers to chat about. This week’s topic is non-bookish freebie, but I’m going rogue and doing a part 2 of last week’s topic lol.
Last week, I featured big books I read (and enjoyed), while this week I’m focusing on the ones that are still on my TBR.
Let’s take a look at this list!

- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo – 1,480 pages
- The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas – 1,240 pages
- The Eight Life by Nino Haratischvili – 1,148 pages
- Anna Karenina by Lev Tolstoj – 897 pages
- The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese – 849 pages
- The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton – 848 pages
- The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon – 848 pages
- The Old Drift by Namwali Serpell – 830 pages
- M: Son of the Century by Antonio Scurati – 841 pages
- L’armata dei sonnambuli by Wu Ming – 808 pages (I couldn’t find an English edition of this one)
Note: page count is based on my edition if I own the book or on the Goodreads page count for the ones I don’t own.
So many of these I’m genuinely excited to read, especially as I heard good things about them! The size does scare me a little bit though… hopefully I’ll win it sometime soon, as I am looking forward to getting lost inside a big book again!
Happy TTT!

There is a place and time for all book sizes! Doesn’t that sound good? Ha ha.
My TTT this week is Natural World

I hope you enjoy all of these whenever you get to them. I love the musical version of Les Mis so much that I’m kind of afraid to read the book in case it let’s me down 🙈 I think The Luminaries is on my TBR though, although I can’t remember the premise of it off of the top of my head. A few of the others I haven’t heard of. Is the one that doesn’t seem to be avaliable in English a plague story? 🤔

Oh, same! Aside from the obvious issue with size, one of the things that’s stopped me from actually trying to read Les Mis is that I’m worried I won’t love it as much as the musical.
It does look like a plague mask now you mention it! It’s actually about the reign of terror after the French revolution though.

It’s nice to know you love the musical too, it’s one of my top three of all time. I really hope it manages to live up to the musical for you whenever you get to it 🤞
Oh wow I wouldn’t have guessed that. I hope you enjoy it, I think that sort of time/setting is always fascinating to explore.

Good luck getting these read! After last week’s topic I meant to go see what I had on my TBR that are big books, but I forgot, LOL!

Oh The Eighth Life is so worth it! In Dutch the page count is even 1200+, in English it’s significantly shorter. But I was invested once the story progresses.

Glad to hear you liked it too! Same, in Italian it’s over 1000 pages but I saw the English edition seems to be shorter. I heard nothing but good things about it, so one day I’ll have to pick it up!

There are so many great chunky books that a series could be made! I read Priory in April and was so proud to knock it off the TBR. It was so big!! haha

That’s so true haha! Oooh well done on getting that off the TBR!

You’re proof it can be done haha! When I checked I was surprised to see I’d added The Luminaries to my Goodreads in 2014… oops 😅

I really loved The Covenant of Water. I felt like I was in India! Bonus, since I’ve never actually gone there.

I’ve heard great things about THE COVENANT OF WATER. I’ll probably give it a go at some point. I hope you enjoy all these when you read them.
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I’ve read Anna Karenina {on a whim one summer in college, who knows why, lol} … Monte Cristo and Priory are on my TBR as well!

Based on the lists everyone’s been sharing the past couple of weeks, they seem to be very popular haha! Books read on a whim are often the ones I end up enjoying the most (RIP to all TBR plans lol)

I once owned a copy of Les Miserables and I found it so intimidating! I hope you can get to these soon.

I read The Count of Monte Cristo earlier this year. It took so long to get through!

I’ve been wanting to read Monte Cristo for a while but I keep getting intimidated by how chonky it is! 🫣 I’ve heard a lot of people say that it doesn’t feel that big when you start reading it though, which is great.

I heard the same thing! But I keep feeling intimidated by it too 😂 One day I’ll be brave enough to start it!

Great list! I am a sucker for a good chonk of a book, but it can be tough to find the time to devote to a big book. The Eighth Life sounds intriguing, and I had to add that one to my TBR. I’m a sucker for historical fiction set around the time of the Russian Revolution, so thanks for introducing me to it.
