Hi everyone and welcome back for the final day of this festive series! I had loads of fun reminiscing and sharing some of my older reads with you all – and I may now have a strong desire to re-read a few of them, too.
Thank you for being a part of this and sticking with me all the way ❤️
So, without further ado, today’s featured book is…

Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher
🎶 Nettle & Bone,
Nettle & Bone,
everyone wishes for Nettle & Bone 🎶
You can see the Christmas spirit has well and truly taken a hold of me now… So, let’s end on a high note with a book that isn’t really Christmassy but remains one of my favourite reads in these last few years. Have I shared this one before? Of course. Will that ever stop me from recommending it over and over again? Why, certainly not!
Read for: revenge; a weird and wonderful quest; humour; a demon-possessed chicken.
Synopsis
This isn’t a story about how the princess marries the prince, it’s about how she kills him.
After years of seeing her sisters suffer at the hands of an abusive prince, Marra―the shy, convent-raised, third-born daughter―has finally realized that no one is coming to their rescue. No one, except for Marra herself.
Seeking help from a powerful Dust Wife, Marra is offered the tools to kill a prince―if she can complete three impossible tasks. But, as is the way in tales of princes, witches, and daughters, the impossible is only the beginning.
On her quest, Marra is joined by the Dust Wife, a reluctant fairy godmother, a strapping former knight, and a chicken possessed by a demon. Together, the five of them intend to be the hand that closes around the throat of the prince and frees Marra’s family and their kingdom from its tyrannous ruler at last.
That’s all, folks!
Thank you for being here and to all who celebrate,
my very best wishes of a Merry Christmas for you and yours.
